Really tough to tell it, because you told nothing about the strategy. And it is about lots of issues: WHAT keyword he was fighting for, HOW he was building backlinks, WHAT quality these backlinks are, etc.

But there are 2 variants:

(1) The backlinks which he got did not look enough trusty to Google?

(2) Maybe he will get back, sometimes SEO is full of sudden ups and downs, but only dozens of experiments in different niches done for several months allow making any conclusions.

Speaking about getting no:1 spot on Google….I got a friend who discovered a ‘trick’ from Youtube that could get you on no: 1 spot on Google. He tried the method…..managed to get within 3 – 6 placing on page 1 for maybe about 2 days or so…..then on the 3rd day……it’s no where to be seen. Just like gone into yesteryear. What went wrong?

Is it because his site got insufficient backlinks? Is it because of his site got insufficient traffics to maintain that position?
