This strategy needs negotiations, money and time. Because it’s not easy to convince one of the top sites in your niche to publish your piece of content (be it general article, or review of some issue in your niche, or simply a short piece of semi-promo text) and give you one of a few one way backlinks.

Most likely you will have to pay for such a publication, and negotiate, negotiate, negotiate. This is not quick, but even a small bunch of one way backlinks from the reputable site will help you a lot in SEO.

Forum Marketing

Usually this strategy is being used for diversification, rather than any other purposes. If – in addition to the major link building campaign that you are doing – you add a bunch of backlinks from 5-7 forums in your niche. Day after day it grows into a nice extra pool of backlinks from reputable resources.

Most likely the pages with your backlinks will appear on pages with zero PR, because these are pages that have been created by you and are very fresh. Still, over time, you get a good number of backlinks, they accumulate, and often seriously boost your link building portfolio.

In terms of technology you are getting backlinks from the forum signatures or even from inside the text of the forum posts. It is also recommended to do this job manually, without any automatic tools, because spam forum posting is instantly noticed by the forum people and your account gets suspended – so, manual forum marketing, when there is a real person who is doing the job, who is analyzing the topics discussed on the forum and runs the online conversation with other forum members.

Blog Commenting

For a big while blog commenting (and getting backlinks from the comments) was a very effective tool to build one way backlinks. All you need is go to the top blogs in your niche and comment to the publications done on these blogs. If you can run a conversation online, and comment productively, this can bring you backlinks from really good pages. Sometimes your comment can be approved and published even on the old pages with PR2 and more.

The cloud in the sky is that tons of automatic (and – most often – primitive tools) junked the whole idea with sending the floods and floods of spam comments, and even the best spam filters fail to save the problem. Logically that most of the bloggers are switching their blogs to the ‘no follow’ on the comments. Still, if you do a great job, in almost any niche you can find at least some good blogs, SEO-powered, without any ‘no follow’ stuff on the backlinks.

Social bookmarking sites have been a hit for a good period of time. Lots of people have build up their own social bookmarking web sites.

Link brokers are the companies that help to match the “link givers” and the “link getters”.

Inside these memberships people can buy backlinks on the sites available in the network of this link broker. Usually you pay on a link-per-month basis.

And you can also sell the web space on your site, so that other “link getters” could be a backlink on it.

Backlinks from Free Web Page Creation Services

Today there are lots of web projects where they allow you creating unlimited number of web pages, with possibilities to add text, images, video and links into the page info. Great examples of these networks are Squidoo, HubPages and other projects.

Not all, but at least several of these projects have managed to become very trusted and reputable in the eyes of major search engines. And getting backlinks from them is worth the job.

For example, top authority sites in almost any niche have reputation programs. They review your site and if it fits with their standards – they give you a badge. It can be a lovely looking picture with text like “Reviewed for Quality, by www.ReputableSiteHere.com” And these pictures can come with the real live one way backlink to the site of the reviewing company.

Viral strategies are far from being quick, but if the idea is great – then in a year you can talk about your personal backlink pools, thousands and thousands of backlinks.

AdSense Units are Not Shown on My Blog,
Though I Have Inserted the Code Into
AdSense Mania or AdSense Mania PRO Theme…

This is one of the standard questions which we are getting to our support – and we decided to explain why this happens.

It has nothing to do with AdSense Mania (and/or AdSense Mania PRO) theme. It is about official Google AdSense rules.

And one of their rules is that you cannot display more than 3 ad units per one web page. If you have more than 3 ad units per page – Google blocks all ad units that are above the margin of 3 ads, and you see empty spots instead of AdSenses.

With one of the clients we did a simple test…

He had AdSense code inserted into all possible slots of AdSense Mania PRO (and PRO version has plenty of them).

We switched off all units, and left only 2 units in the sidebar: one unit with big square adsense, another with 2 vertical skyscrapers – this is 3 ad units altogether. No problems. Everything is displayed properly.

Then, we also added one more ad unit – into the header of the blog (to imitate the “violation” of 3 ad units rule) and once the page was updated – one of the vertical skyscrapers disappeared. So, No Matter How Many Ad Units
You Activate Inside
AdSense Mania or AdSense Mania PRO,
Google will Show Only 3 Ad Units per Page

Please keep this in mind and don’t get surprised if you see less ad units, in case you are “violating” the 3 ad units rule from Google.

And don’t forget that AdSense Mania and/or AdSense Mania PRO allow you to mix AdSenses with other ad units (banners, other contextual networks, etc.) So, you can still nicely pack your site with ads, and keep in perfect accordance with Google AdSense guidelines.

Technical Update for
AdSense Mania and AdSense Mania PRO:
Proper Compatibility with
WP Caching Plugins

Right after releasing AdSense Mania and AdSense Mania PRO (those of you who have not received premium theme yet – please read this blog post about new AdSense optimized theme for FTS users) some of the client reported the strange activity noticed when this theme is used with certain other WP plugins.

We have done the checking and indeed, the plugins that work with the caching experience might be breaking the parameters for the lines of code preset in the theme. Currently we noticed this issue to be seen with WP Super Cache, but this might be not the only one caching plugin that interferes into the saved parameters.

Do I Need to Quit Using these Plugins?
Surely Not!!

We respect your right to choose the plugins, and we have made sure that this sort of activity does not interfere with the proper work of AdSense Mania and AdSense Mania PRO.

If you have not downloaded any of the versions of AdSense mania – then you don’t need to do anything, because the zip file with the theme is already updated inside your FTS members area.

If you have already uploaded the theme to your site, then you simply need to change 1 file on your hosting:

- if you are using AdSense mania (FREE version), please download this zip file, unzip it and you will see a .php file, upload this file instead of file which is inside ‘themes’ folder of your blog – …themes/AdsenseMania/functions.php

- if you are using AdSense mania (PRO version), login to your members area, go to WP THEMES and there you will find the file to download, unzip it and you will see a .php file, upload this file instead of file which is inside ‘themes’ folder of your blog …themes/AdsenseManiaPRO/functions.php

(we are not putting the PRO file in open access here, because it has the advanced features of the PRO theme and surely we cannot put them in open access here)

IMPORTANT: you might also need to re-insert AdSense code to the web fields, because the caching was reported to interfere with them as well. After you overwrite functions.php file and re-insert the code – everything will be ok.

Once again, if you have not downloaded the theme yet or have not installed it on your blog – then simply take the updated version of the theme inside your FTS members area. All you need is to login to FTS members area, go to WP THEMES page and download the theme from there.
