Surely in this mean and cruel world I am doing it for a purpose. BUT, not all types of freelance forums, I am talking about the freelance forums where people are looking for freelance SEO services.
I will explain a little later how to find the best ones, but let’s start with answering “Why SEO freelance forums?!”
Don’t forget that this is the place where people with money come to get some help with traffic from search engines. And there are two types of people who are looking for SEO freelancers:
(1) Direct clients – people who need targeted traffic from search engines.
(2) SEO intermediaries – usually these are SEO services that are getting paid by the clients to bring more traffic and who need to outsource part of their job.
Though it may look that direct clients are better for you to sell the site, actually SEO intermediaries in lots of cases have proven to be much better in helping to sell sites with traffic. First of all, because good SEO intermediaries have a big lists of clients. Secondly, because SEO intermediaries are great at selling stuff to their clients, which means that they can convince a client to pay money for the site with traffic (having put their own nice profit delta to the value of the site). And finally, SEO intermediaries understand the value of traffic and you don’t need to explain the basics to them. If they see that they can make good lump sum of “extra cash” by making their client happy – they are on your side.
Both direct clients and SEO intermediaries have pros and cons for you, when it comes down to selling sites to them.
With direct clients the advantage is that you can make more money on them (no intermediaries – you get it all) – all you need is to explain that SEO will take time and no guarantees of WHEN they will see results from it, whereas the turnkey site with established traffic is a solid and very predictable thing that they can touch, smell and taste. So, basically you are playing on the fear factor here and sell them stability. The disadvantage is that you need to search for new direct clients all the time.

Step 2. Update your site portfolio.

Each site is verified for traffic validity. You can get detailed keyword-by-keyword report on them. And traffic value estimation.
Sites are in different niches. With different traffic value and – price. Some sites cost cheaper, some are highly priced. So, you can choose the site or sites that “fit your guts” best of all.
Once you are ready with the choice, you can target the potential clients.
Step 3. Getting it touch with targeted clients.
Getting in touch is the most psychologically exciting part of the process.
First of all, because you shouldn’t lose your face when doing that. The approach of “we have a lovely site, please buy it” will not work, because this is instantly killing the value of any site in the eyes of potential buyer.

When it comes down to the work with SEO intermediaries – the approach is a little different. Because you don’t need to explain the value of traffic to them. Instead, you must make them feel you are a person that can flood them with sites (with traffic) in almost any niche. So, it’s really up to you whether to choose direct clients or SEO intermediaries; the most important is that know you know the pros and cons of each strategy.
