Geo Tagging YouTube Videos
How to Geo Tag YouTube Videos
For Maximum Effect with Google Places
This Post Comes as Preparation
For New Google Places Module
Inside Free Traffic System PRO Dashboard
As announced before, we are launching shortly a new module inside Free Traffic System – for maximum automation of your Google Places listing(s) promo.
But there is something you can do already right now, as your “home work,” before this module is launched – and this is geotagging your YouTube videos.
Why is Geo Tagging of a YouTube Video
So Important for Google Places?
The quick answer – because when you set up the location settings of the video (your real business address), Google starts “understanding” that this video has DIRECT RELATION to this very location on our planet.
Logically, if the same video, geo tagged with the business address, is also used in the Google Places – this “convinces” Google even more than both the video and the Google Places listing with this video should get a priority for this location.
Hence, your listing gets additional LEGAL priority in the eyes of Google, because it is Google that is giving you this feature in the video in YouTube.
How to Geo Target/Geo Tag
Your YouTube Video…
Login to your YouTube account and Edit on the video that you want to geo tag.
Then go do video Advanced Settings and you will see a web field Video location – this is where you put the business address (citation) of your listing.

After Google finds exact map location and you see that address matches to what you see on the map – you can Save the changes.

Great tip!
I have never thought about citations from YouTube -
even though I have done Local – Maps for clients before.
Doing the Citations ahead of the Maps – Local should help a lot – as you will have a ranking site recognizing you already.

It does not save the info when you go back into to the advance setting all you find is a load of numbers in the location box.
answer from admin
It does not save the text in the web field (leaving it empty when you go to Advances Settings), but it saves the location on the Google Map.
