Google Places Citations SEO
Google Places Citations SEO:
How to Push the Ranks of Local Businesses
In Google Places Program
What are Google places citations and why they are so vital for the promotion of ANY local business web site in ANY location in ANY niche.
Citations are the official address of your site that looks like this on a Google places listing…

For Google Your Official Address (Citation)
Mentioned on Other Web Pages
is like
A BACKLINK!!
Yes, if you simply mention in the articles or comments that you are submitting to free or paid blogs inside Free Traffic System your citation (your official address – exactly the same way it appears on your Google places listing) – this will count as a backlink.
Simple text, without any hyperlink acts like a “textual backlink” for Google places listing of your local businesses.
Why Does Google Act Like This?
An assumption is that Google – when seeing your official company name, address, contact numbers on other web pages – “thinks” that your business is growing. Other web sites publish your details and it adds to the reputation of your business.
Each citation – each publication of on the web pages of other sites – acts like a backlink. A simple text that acts like a backlink for Google places – and pushes your local businesses high in ranks, leaving others behind. Even those who rank #1 in organic searches.
Obviously, the value of these citations will depend upon the reputation and SEO trust of the site where you get your article and/or comment published. The higher the reputation of the site where citation is published, the better for your business and …
… the better for the ranks of your business on Google places listings.

It’s so funny that sometimes people see citation building as something new, but us local SEOers have been doing this for years.
Another important tip is to build backlinks to your citation sources.
A great place to analyze backlinks is to use Whitespark’s citation finder.

This is what they are working right now, waiting for the update – because I know that they had issues with storing their previous webinars.

I was on this Webinar and there were lots of Aha moments like DIm said. I realised I was doing this the wrong way for some clients but I was still getting good rankings. Looking forward to learning more.

I watched this webinar. Although it was a little long, David S gave away so much good information. I have no doubt that paid subscribers will benefit greatly.
