Every industry has its own tricks, nuances and “hidden truths”, and beyond any doubt the industry of submitting the articles to the blogs of other people has these nasty things as well.

One of them is an ambitious promise to send your article (with your backlinks) to hundreds and even thousands of blogs. Usually the salespitch phrase can be something like, “You submit article and it gets sent to all blogs in your niche that are under the umbrella of our service/program/project” (this is not a quote, so please don’t try to find the service by searching this phrase in Google)

The promise looks awesome. I submit 1 article with 3 backlinks, they will send it to 300, or 500, or even more blogs and I can have… – WOW, tons of backlinks from tons of blogs.

BUT, They Don’t Tell You

The vast majority of the networks that give that promise don’t tell you that your article will get published only upon approval from the owner of each of the blogs. In Free Traffic System we don’t do like this, because our tests (you will see more details shortly) show that this is killing the very idea of submitting articles into systems where article is published only upon approval of this article by the blog owner.

- They do not want too many publications on their blog

In terms of SEO this is pretty stupid, because we’ve done the tests where hundreds of articles per day have been published on the same blog, and no problems at all. But the blog owner thinks that this is bad, and you are down the drain with your articles.

- They do not have time to review and approve all that content

Lots of people have more than 1 blog. And got into the system with free content distribution, because they do not have time. And now they need to spend their time on approving all that articles that are coming on all their blogs.

They are short for time and the systems require from them to spend extra time on moderation. Sounds like a paradox, isn’t it?

Very quickly blog owners see that this is eating too much of their time – and your articles with backlinks will never get published.

Paradox?..

The systems with moderation team and limited number of submissions per article can give you a lot more publications then the systems where they don’t put any limits on the publication number, but you have to wait until each and every blog owner makes a decision to approve your article.

Yes, this is true. At the end of the previous week we checked the stats of our affiliates and noticed that some of our top affiliates have got Google page 1 for their keywords and some other affiliates are approaching Google page 1. In one of the previous posts on this blog we started to talk about trackbacks as an instrument to check one way backlinks that you build inside Free Traffic System and outside this system (for details read post about what is a trackback and how to use it for backlinks checking).

And – thanks to your questions about trackbacks – we noticed that many people are approving these trackback comments and publish them on their blog post pages. This is a big SEO mistake.

Of course, you are the boss on your blog, you do whatever you wish with the blog, and Free Traffic System team does not interfere with your decisions. But this is what happens behind the curtain when you approve/publish a trackback comment.

When the trackback comment in published, you see it appearing as a comment under one of your blog posts. It is very important to notice that this comment has an OUTGOING link to ANOTHER blog. So, you are doing your best to build one way links inside Free Traffic System and then give away this virtual SEO juice that you have managed to build for the page of your site to ANOTHER page of ANOTHER site.

Surely if the comment would bring up some very useful information that seriously adds to what you have said in your own post – then approving this type of comment makes sense, and you can close the eyes on giving away a backlink. But trackback comments bring nothing important in terms of information to your blog post.

So, no informational value from trackback commment, and you give them a backlink. This is TOO GENEROUS when speaking of SEO. Free Traffic System strongly recommends NOT to approve/publish trackback comments on your blog.

What to Do with ALREADY Approved Trackback Comments?

Go to your WordPress admin area on the blog, into the section Comments. There you should find a button Unapprove. Tick all trackback comments that you have already published and then click Unapprove.

This will bring the trackback comments back into your admin section, without making them visible on the blog post pages and you will stop SEO leakage.

Can I DELETE Trackback Comments?

You can, but don’t forget that trackback comments are a great tool to see from where exactly you are getting one way backlinks. That is why we recommend not to delete them – let them stay inside your WP admin area. Just make sure not to approve them

We have got several emails from our users recently where they ask about how they can track backlinks from special offers, because they are NOT shown on FTS stats page of the members area.

Ok, How Can I See ALL Backlinks?

There is a solution. The vast majority of FTS members are using building backlinks for their blogs. Inside WordPress admin area of your blog you can go to – > Comments and see all backlinks.

This becomes possible thanks to WordPress using a trackback feature.

Trackback (in simple words) – when another WP blog makes a post and gives you a backlink, this blog sends you special technical notification – it shows on what page exactly they gave you a backlink. These technical notification messages (trackbacks) are stored inside Comments section of your WP blog admin area. You can see on what page the backlink was published and go to this page to see how your post looks there.

So, login to WP admin area of your blog to which you are building backlinks, go to Comments section and you will see that you have a lot more backlinks (sometimes 2 or 3 times more) than you have reported inside FTS stats page.

This will help you to really see the real powerful of your backlink growth with Free Traffic System.

When you are getting something for free, you get used to it quickly and start taking it for granted. But you should never forget about the real value that stands behind Free Traffic System and its free service.

Mistake #1 – Waiting for the Better Weather
